Barbecue Buyers Guide

With the weather heating up and the sunshine making an occasional appearance, it means one thing and one thing only. It’s time to get the barbecue out!

Looking to buy a new barbecue? Don’t know where to start? Here are all the things you need to consider.

Gas vs Charcoal

One of the most important decisions you need to make is whether you want a gas or charcoal barbecue. Gas barbecues are easy to ignite and heat up. The temperature is also easy to control, and they provide constant, direct heat. However, the gas bottles used to fuel the barbecue are heavy and expensive.

Charcoal barbecues, on the other hand, use briquettes which are lighter and cheaper than gas bottles. And whilst the charcoal briquettes are easy to ignite, you need to wait until they are white hot before cooking, and then empty the ash tray after every use.

The Different Features

Not all barbecues are the same. Different barbecues offer different features – it just comes down to what you want and need. Barbecues with wheels are an ideal option if you want to be able to easily maneuver your barbecue. Warming racks are also perfect for if you are cooking for big parties and need to keep any food warm.

Do you need extra space to store any condiments, plates, or utensils? Barbecues with shelves will be great for you, giving you extra space for all your favourite barbecue foods.

What Size Do You Need?

One thing you don’t want is a barbecue that is too small or too big for its purpose. Choosing the perfect size depends on how many people you will regularly be barbecuing for. If you are mostly cooking for small groups, you don’t need a massive barbecue. Similarly, if you are cooking for larger parties, you will need a larger barbecue.

Now that you have considered what fuel, features and size you need, you should be able to easily find the perfect barbecue for you in time for the summer.
